itself. the important and productive creative relationships between black and white musicians like Louis Armstrong and Jack Teagarden. Benny Goodman and Lionel Hampton,
Neil Hefti and Count Basie, and of course Dizzy Gillespie and Mike Longo should be studied and celebrated and held up as models of how our society, our nation, and the world itself can grow through
the unity of common experience, celebrating and embracing the diversity which exists within that unity.
